Requirements

• PHP 4.1.0 or greater
• PHP sessions enabled
• File locking enabled
• GD graphics library (CAPTCHA)
• FreeType library (CAPTCHA)

Installation steps for version 1.1.2

• Extract files from .zip file
• Create directory for guestbook on web server
• Upload .gif files in binary mode
• Upload arial.ttf in binary mode
• Upload .php files in ascii mode
• The following files need to be writeable (chmod 666)

1. badStrings.php
2. badWords.php
3. banned.php
4. db.php
5. fields.php
6. options.php
7. password.php
8. smilies.php
9. temp.default.php
10. lock.php

• Point a browser to "admin.php" and set password
• The sign and view pages are sign.php and view.php

Upgrading from version 1.0.9 - 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

• The following files have changed:

1. PYG.php
2. admin.php
3. sign.php
4. addEntry.php
5. arial.ttf
6. view.php

• If you would like to use the default template, then replace temp.default.php. If you want to keep your template and use Turing protection, add the <turingProtectionHTML> tag to your 'sign' template.

Upgrading from version 1.0.7 - 1.0.8 to 1.1.2

• Install version 1.1.2 into a new directory.
• Import the entries from the old guestbook. A tool is available to import entries from version 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 guestbooks.
